About Hand Puppets
We would like to extend an invitation to all of you with
this common interest, be it: teachers, therapists, psychologists,
medical practitioners, clinicians or parents, to become
involved in extending our knowledge of the uses and advantages
of hand puppets, when applied to bringing about benefits
to children, by sending us your points of view, research
papers or anecdotal experience of using hand puppets.
To this end we have provided you with a facility to add
to a knowledge-database. We hope that such a database will,
over-time, become a discussion forum for professionals to
draw from and to find new ideas, sharing the benefits of
using hand puppets with one another and, thereby, promulgating
sound information for future applications and methods of
use.
You will also find pages outlining some of the many uses
that we know our existing customers use our hand puppets
for, these are loosely categorised as:

In addition we have provided details of our ‘products
and prices,’ ‘contact details’ and a ‘links’
page.
We hope you find this site helpful, informative and feel
that our products are fairly priced and of high quality.
Why Are We Doing This?
Hand Puppets UK shares an inextricable link with our first
company, Bedford Bears, which spawned the basis of the unique
designs we have today. Over the years, many of our customers
have asked us to seek new ways of spreading the benefits
of our unique craft-based designs among like-minded specialists.
It is these beginnings and the encouragement we have received
that have acted as the catalyst for us taking this new direction.
Therefore, the raison d’être for the existence
of Hand Puppets UK and this site is because of people like
you … our customers.
Our first attempt at reaching out to professionals has been
to attend our first trade show, The Education Show 2005,
which was specifically aimed at teachers and others involved
in the education of children and child-centred care. The
positive interest gained at this event, and further encouragement
of hundreds of those who came to see us, has added to our
enthusiasm to find further ways of sharing the uses and
joys of our hand puppet designs.
